Duele Trail

Gabe and I went hiking together on Saturday!

It was super fun, and we only had to drive 20 minutes to get to the trailhead.

This beetle was almost two inches.

We followed the river the entire way.

We crossed a lot of bridges like this.  One had a snake on it!

The trail also went over some REALLY big rocks that we had to climb. :)

About a mile in, we came to a rope swing.
It was really fun, until it gave Gabe a blood blister on his leg. :(

This little cave area had an old campfire in it.

We also found some places where people had set up camp.  We took a water break.

We lost the trail for a minute, but kept following the river.
Plants got thick, the ground sloped, and it was muddy.
Another couple of hikers told us they had to turn back.

We found the trail again after a few minutes.  

On the way back, we discovered we had simply missed a bridge, 

and the path was on the other side of the river for a little bit.

Shortly after the two-mile marker, we found this!

We were pretty excited!

We decided to hike up to the top of the waterfall

...and have a short snack. :)

And we got back to the car pretty tired, but we both had a ton of fun!
